World Earth Day 2018

Punjab ENVIS Centre staff members viz Senior Programme Officer along with Information Officer attended an International Training Course on ‘Managing Information in the Digital Age-A Short Course Information Management and Web-based Outreach’ from November 26th to 29th, 2013. The training was conducted in Anil Agarwal Green College at Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) campus, New Delhi. A total of 25 participants from countries like India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Srilanka, Bhutan attended this course.

The main objective of this specially designed course was to teach participants on how to manage all aspects and types of information, at an institutional level and develop a virtual resource centre. This short course was divided into four core sessions: Planning, information Sourcing, Organizing Information; Audio Visual Resources, Database Management; Open Source (Opportunities, Pitfalls), Social Media, Analytics.; and Communication, Online Presence. The ENVIS staff benefited from this training as many of the sessions focused on information sourcing, managing and dissemination.
