World Earth Day 2018
Centre for Media Studies (CMS), New Delhi in collaboration with ENVIS Centre, Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) and Department of Environment & Botanical Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar organized 'Amritsar CMS Vatavaran International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival & Forum, 2014' on 3-5 November, 2014.

During the Festival, various Internationally and Nationally acclaimed environment and wildlife films and documentaries relevant to the region were screened simultaneously to different set of audience such as, school students, college/university faculty and students, under privileged children, defense and paramilitary forces and general public, etc. at different venues. The major objective of the entire event was to highlight the major issues w.r.t. environment and wildlife of the region specifically Punjab and motivate all the stakeholders to take concerted actions and participate in environment and wildlife conservation programmes.
The Programme  Schedule of the Festival as under:

The Panel Discussion was held on 'Inland Waters and Wetland Biodiversity of Punjab' under the chairmanship of Dr. S.S. Ladhar, Additional Direct (Environment), PSCST & Moderator was Dr. Adarsh Pal Wig, Associate Professor, Botanical & Environmental Sciences, GNDU, Amritsar. The other Panelists for the Panel Discussion were:
  • Sh. Mahavir Singh, IFS, Divisional Forests Officer, Amritsar.
  • Mr. A.K. Thukral, Professor, Deptt. of Environment & Botanical Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
