The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) generated 3,018 lakh units of electricity yesterday, the highest ever in its history.
The corporation’s chairman and managing director, A Venu Prasad, said earlier, the highest-ever generation was achieved on July 3 last year at 2,999 lakh units.
He said the PSPCL was providing eight-hour power supply daily to agricultural consumers in Punjab from June 10 onwards besides providing 24-hour power supply to all other categories of consumers in the state. He said all thermal units of the PSPCL and independent power producers within the state had been pressed into service and were running to their full capacity to meet the daily demand of 13,144 MW in the state.
