RESIDENTS ALLEGE, THE PIPE SUPPLYING WATER HAS CRACKED AT MANY PLACES AND SEWAGE WATER IS GETTING MIXED WITH IT
Ward number 40 residents have complained that skin diseases and stomach ailments have spread in the area due to contamination of the water supply.
A resident of Sahid Babu Labh Singh Nagar said that for the past six months they are being supplied dirty water as the pipe supplying water to the area has developed a crack and sewage water is getting mixed with the supply. As a result many residents of the area have developed skin ailments, stomach problems and mild fever.
Only after repeated complaints Congress councilors along with district president Rajinder Singh Beri and leader of opposition in municipal corporation Jagdish Raja took a round of the area.
Complaints about polluted water being supplied to the residents were lodged by the councilor too but the civic body failed to initiate any action.
Ward councilor Pradip Rai said that residents have lodged their complaint with the authorities of the municipal corporation but till date nothing has been done. The superintending engineer from the water works department also inspected the area and commisioned a team to locate and rectify the fault .
